EquipHotel 2026: which pro coffee innovations belong at home?
A hospitality trade show has, on paper, nothing to say to someone pulling two espressos a day in their kitchen. But pro equipment is often where an idea gets proven before a home version shows up. So here's a radar on EquipHotel 2026, running 2 to 5 November at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
A radar from a distance: the official ticketing page makes EquipHotel 2026 trade-only, and the FAQ doesn't list the general public among admitted visitors.
Updated on 10 October 2026: dates checked against the organiser's FAQ.
EquipHotel 2026 coffee: what we know, and what we don't
Not much on coffee.
The show's Foodservice page lists coffee machines as a category but names no coffee exhibitor.
The Innovation Awards have 18 nominees (as of 10 October 2026); the ceremony is on Tuesday 3 November.
On the foodservice side, the official nominees include BRITA iQ, a connected water dispenser (water, not coffee), and DYOS by JVD, an in-room tray product with no details and no sign it involves coffee.
Industrie Hôtelière counts more than 400 exhibitors with new products (5 October 2026).
Filter 1: thermal stability, but at low volume
A bar machine churns out cup after cup; at home it's two, then it sits there. The question for any announcement: does the temperature hold from the first espresso? Our guide to thermoblock, single boiler, HX, dual boiler and PID compares the systems. (And the 19 bar on a spec sheet? A pump peak quoted by the manufacturer. What counts is extraction pressure, around 9 bar.)
Filter 2: maintenance and automation
In our view (editorial judgement, not measurement), it's the likeliest candidate to cross from café counter to kitchen. Auto-rinse and cleaning reminders, plus water monitoring: none of it's glamorous, but it keeps a machine alive. Before paying extra for automation, see what a backflush already asks of you. An app that reminds you to swap the filter, sure. A subscription to switch it on, no thanks.
Is a pro feature worth the extra cost at home?
Rarely as-is. A big boiler and a two-group head are sized for a café that never stops; in your kitchen they mostly cost space and electricity, plus the price tag. Third filter: look for the shrunk-down version of the idea (steadier temperature, a cleaning cycle that runs itself), not the machine. If space is tight, see our compact bean-to-cup machines.
A reading grid
| Criterion | Question for the announcement | Why it matters at home |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal stability | Does the temperature hold from the first espresso? | Few cups, often from a cold machine |
| Maintenance and water | What's left for you to do, which consumables? | A skipped chore ends in a repair; scale builds up at low volume too |
| Size and energy | Standard plug, standby, quick heat-up? | The machine spends most of its life waiting |
| Price | Does the maker sell a home range? | A pro feature only counts once it gets cheaper |
Is EquipHotel 2026 open to the public?
No. According to the FAQ, the admitted groups are trade visitors, accompanied students, press and exhibitors. A visitor badge cost €55 excl. VAT at the early-bird rate and €110 excl. VAT on site, per the official ticketing page checked on 10 October 2026.
Which coffee announcements should you follow during EquipHotel?
The Innovation Awards on 3 November first, then manufacturer press releases, JVD and DYOS included. TradeShowIntel also lists Nespresso Professional as an exhibitor (Pavilion 7.2, stand F016, article of 8 October 2026), with no product named and no confirmation on the official list.
After 5 November
We'll update this piece with the winners and only the launches the organiser or a manufacturer confirms. For home brewers: our look back at Paris Coffee Show 2026 (already over, 12 to 14 September) and our IFA Berlin 2026 radar for coffee machines. If nothing home-relevant comes out of EquipHotel 2026, we'll say that too.
