TriestEspresso Expo 2026: two events in Trieste

“International coffee week in Trieste” is the combined sequence. The Expo itself lasts three days. If you're considering the trip, remember who it's for: the organiser describes it as a B2B event, even though tickets are available.

The ICC theme is “Coffee at the Crossroads: Climate, Consumers and Circularity.” Its official programme covers climate resilience, the use of coffee byproducts and traceability.

That may sound distant from a home portafilter. It isn't. Origin, lot consistency and traceability affect the coffee you buy before grind size enters the picture. But the ICC isn't a machine catalogue, and its talks aren't product verdicts.

The equipment story has a name: Home & Expert Consumer. The organiser says this area is for professional level coffee machines and grinders made for home use. The category is confirmed. The reviewed sources don't yet give a list of models.

On 22 October 2026, the TriestEspresso programme lists one session on espresso machine evolution and technology, followed by another on coffee grinders. Splitting those subjects is sensible. A polished machine demonstration catches the eye; one poor grinder setting can still ruin the extraction. Nor does a pump pressure printed on a box explain what a 9 bar espresso extraction really means.

The Specialty Coffee Association standards also assess home grinders separately from espresso machines. That leaves useful questions for any announcement. Are measurements published? Is the method explained? Will home buyers actually be able to purchase it?

As of 5 October 2026, the reviewed sources don't confirm a specific home machine, product launch or award. The official competitions page still said “Events coming soon” on that date. An honest blank is better than a guessed launch list.
